But there's also something written in really small print saying, "Well, almost whenever. Expiration date is by the end of the year, December 31st."]

[Yes, he is trying to make sure he doesn't disappoint Haruhi because disappointing Haruhi gives him headaches. And he'll have to clean up messes that are worse than penalties.]

[Kyon's being super slow, so for that reason solely, and no other, she grabs his hand and starts to go faster.]

[Not exactly sarcasm, but when Haruhi grabs his hand, he lets out a yelp of surprise - mostly because he didn't expect her of all people to drag him along.]
